At present, the international situation is in a complex and profound change. Affected by the international financial crisis, the real economy is also confronting an unprecedented crisis, and the whole world is enveloped in the shadow of the crisis. However, in the face of severe international economic environment, governments have introduced corresponding policies to expand domestic demand and promote economic growth. For instance, the Chinese government has issued 4 trillion Yuan economic stimulus plan and top ten industry revitalization measures. Currently these policies and measures are beginning to bear fruit and the Chinese economy is experiencing positive changes in operation. The sales of vehicle at the first half year were more than six million. In response to the crisis, some developed countries have implemented measures known as the "Green New Deal" which has stimulated the development of related industries. Governments have increased infrastructure investment and strengthened environmental protection, promoting the development of relevant geosynthetics materials and filter materials industries. China is relatively in shortage of resources and has a fragile ecological environment which leads to high ratio of dependence on foreign trade of the economy. In order to promote stable and rapid economic development, it should not only base on expanding domestic demand, but also aim at the commanding heights of the future industrial development, to open up new space for development and enhance staying power of economic development. Therefore the above-mentioned measures have further promoted the development of China's non-woven materials industries. At present, the medical health materials, filter materials, automobile interior materials and geosynthetics materials are all having a gratifying picture of booming sales. It is expected that in 2009 China's non-woven material production will be more than 1.5 million tons and will reach more than 1.8 million tons in 2011. By then, China will become the world's largest non-woven materials production base and consuming market.

Thus, despite being seriously affected by the global economic crisis, the SINCE'09 + ANEX'09 International Nonwovens Materials Exhibition had successfully been held in Shanghai from 20-22 May 2009. The exhibition occupied two venues with 3 halls for the first time and the total exhibition space was 18,000 square meters, which is the best record ever. Over 350 companies from 25 countries and regions actively participated the exhibition, of which more than 130 were overseas exhibitors and more than 200 Chinese exhibitors. Total trade visitors reached 14,000 (including 3,000 overseas visitors). Global Nonwovens Industrial Summit (GNS) was also held in conjunction with the exhibition, which included products and technological innovation special reports, which gained high degree of praise by the international non-woven material industry. The next 14th edition of the Shanghai International Nonwovens Exhibition (SINCE 2011) will be held in 12-14 October 2011 at Shanghai World Expo Exhibitions & Convention Center, Hall 1, Level 1 (the theme hall of World Expo 2010). The new exhibition hall with creative design concept and the most advanced exhibition facilities will meet friends around the world in the nonwovens material industry with a brand new face. It is expected that the scale of SINCE 2011 will exceed that of SINCE'09 + ANEX'09. The exhibition area will be more than 18,000 square meters and exhibitors will be expected to be more than 400.
